The position is a 20 percent fixed-term appointment as Professor II in Baroque Violin (primarily, though applications from Baroque cellists may also be considered) for a four-year term, with an expected start date of August 1, 2026.

The academic field of the position is Baroque Violin, or alternatively Baroque Cello, and historically informed performance.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities include teaching and supervising students, both individually and in ensembles. The appointed person is expected to take an active role in the academic environment and engage in professional collaboration with colleagues.
I acquired this bow from a former member of the "Gewandhausorchester Leipzig". Mint condition. Its stick’s flexibility and strength, its weight (79.6 g.), center of mass (8.94") and its length (71.5 cm) produce persuasive playing characteristics, mighty sound projection and brilliance ‒ equal to considerably more expensive French bows.

Genuine potential buyers can borrow the bow FOC.

Friedrich "Fritz" MEINEL (1885-1962) was a student of W. A. PFRETZSCHNER, and he worked for many years with Franz A. NÜRNBERGER II in Markneukirchen (cf. photo of MEINEL in the Nürnberger workshop; courtesy of Christian A. Nürnberger). From 1918 on, he successfully ran his own workshop in Markneukirchen. MEINEL’s bows are artistically made; the NÜRNBERGER influence can be seen in the frog and the head of his bows.
