II. Qualification 1.  Should be a leading and representing figure in either Chinese winds, strings or percussion instruments well-known and recognized in the professional field 2. Should have strong passion and academic accomplishment in building the Chinese Instruments Division; 3. Should have regular exposure internationally as an outstanding performer having collaborations with Chinese orchestras of the highest standard; 4. Should be knowledgeable and skillful in cross cultural endeavour, i.e. be able to play professionally one Chinese and one other instrument and have strong and unique artistic style; 5. Should have rich experience in teaching and giving regular masterclasses and workshops to students in music conservatories in different regions; 6.      Should be able to give instructions in Chinese and English fluently; 7. Should have received national and international awards in performing Chinese instrument(s); 8. Should have rich experience to conduct a professional Chinese orchestra or to lead the related section of a professional Chinese orchestra; 9. Should have international affiliation of related professional societies; 10.Should have a music degree plus an additional qualification in music. 11.The academic leader will be appointed as Professor and working directly under the Dean’s leadership. You would teach strings in our Social Access Bursary Scheme in two inner city schools with bursary students aged 8 to 11 years old for around 10 hours each week, and teach older students for around 10 hours per week. You would help to run Music in Action's outreach programme of over 130 workshops in schools each year supported by an Education Assistant. As a performer, you would play in the Jersey Chamber Orchestra, and perform in schools, and lunchtime recital series in St Helier.
